ABOUT
Hello! I'm Chase.
I founded Yesbox Studios and started development of Metropolis 1998 in Novemeber 2021. Currently the studio is comprised of just myself. I work with two talented pixel artists who handle most of the isometric and top down art respectively. After working as a software engineer for over a decade, I decided to jump into the video game development world after being trapped inside a tiny studio apartment in NYC during the pandemic. I moved up to Vermont to begin my journey (and double my runway).
I see my game as something Chris Sawyer (Rollercoaster Tycoon) would have created if he created a city builder. I also pull a lot of influenece from Dwarf Fortress, SimCity series, and Cities: Skylines.
Metropolis 1998 aims to be a fun combination of decoration, simulation, and management.
